Universe on Tour - Roadshow makes a stop in Dortmund

24.07.23 | Event

From August 16 to 20, 2023, Dortmund will host the next highlight of the Year of Science, themed “Our Universe.” The BMBF’s “Universe on Tour” roadshow will stop in Dortmund for five days. The Department Physics and Astronomy and SFB 1491 will participate in the on-site program.

In August, the Twin Cities Park on Schmiedingstraße in Dortmund will feature a special attraction: a mobile planetarium tent, accompanied by a small exhibition, will transport visitors to the depths of space with an exciting planetarium show and offer insights into current research in astronomy. In the accompanying exhibition tent, interested visitors can learn more about the effects of light pollution and how light can carry information. The Department SFB 1491 are involved in designing the planetarium show and will also present various research topics in the accompanying tent. In addition, there will be exciting lectures on four evenings.
