Paris, 1940: The German Wehrmacht occupies the city, and German physicist Wolfgang Gentner is summoned to the Collège de France. His mission: to provide the Nazis with new research findings and material for nuclear fission. But French researchers bring Gentner into contact with the resistance, and the mission becomes the beginning of a risky covert collaboration.
This gripping story is told by science journalist and physician Dr. Astrid Viciano in her book "The Formula of Resistance: How Nuclear Physicists Helped Prevent the Nazis from Building an Atomic Bomb." On March 5, she will report on her extensive research and read excerpts from the book at the Pauluskirche in Bochum. Based on historical events, it offers an impressive insight into the scientific history of World War II and reads as excitingly as a thriller.

Where? Pauluskirchein downtown Bochum, Grabenstraße 9
