Dean's Office of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy
The Dean's Office consists of Dean Prof. Tjus, Vice Dean Prof. Hildebrandt, Dean of Studies Prof. Hägele and is strategically supported by the Faculty's Managing Director Dr. Gerding.
The Dean's Office acts on behalf of the Faculty. The capacity to act results from the resolutions of the Faculty Council or from organisational necessities. An evaluation of measures and a review of strategic goals takes place in the committees of the Faculty. The resulting tasks can be delegated by the Dean's Office to the management or other areas.
Structural and development plans are drawn up with the various groups in the faculty committees, which take up the goals and measures set with the university management for a predefined period of time (currently: perspective planning for the period 2021-2025). In order to realise the goals laid down here, the management plans the finances and manages the Faculty's staffing plan.
The management organises the quality management, which is further developed in the faculty together with the committees, monitored and regularly checked for its functionality.
All appointment procedures, interim evaluations and tenure-track procedures of the faculty are managed by the Dean's Office. The office must be involved in advance in all appointment procedures from the advertisement to the final employment contract.
