During the fall break of 2026, we’ll once again be offering a special highlight for young aspiring researchers in 8th and 9th grade: the Physics Project Week at the Alfried Krupp Student Laboratory. From October 26 to 30, 2026, participants can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of physics as they explore the stars, create gold coatings using plasma, and discover the technologies behind X-ray and ultrasound examinations.
The program offers three exciting hands-on workshops:
- “The Colors of the Stars”
- “From Plasma to a Gold Layer”
- “Physics in Medicine”
In addition, there’s an opportunity to get a taste of campus life—for example, through lab tours, a trial lecture, and group lunches in the cafeteria. The program also includes a trip to the Bochum Planetarium.
