Thanks for your application! We are pleased to announce that the faculty has just admitted you to the M.Sc. in physics and we are looking forward to meeting you in person soon.
This webpage will provide you some of the most important information on the next steps towards enrolling to the M.Sc. program and finally starting you studies here in Germany.
Starting your studies
You can start your studies on 13th of October 2025 (start of the lecture period).
The deadline for arrival at our university is the 27th of October to attend the courses in the upcoming summer semester.
Based on the examination of your submitted documents, there might have been conditions imposed which are stated in the admission letter.
You can fulfill these during your studies here at RUB which means, you do not have to do any courses in advance. It is also possible that some conditions are removed retrospectively if you submit additional documentation that clearly prove the met requirements after your arrival at RUB.
If you can not manage your move to germany in time e.g. due to delays in the visa process, you can defer the start of your studies to the next semester. In this case, you have to re-apply for the program during the upcoming application period. As you have been admitted once, you will then be admitted again with the same conditions.
Mandatory counseling meeting
We would like to invite you to a counselling interview in which we provide further information on the M.Sc. study program as well as studying at the RUB in general.
! Attendance at this interview is compulsory !
Following the interview, you can officially enroll at RUB.
We offer the following group appointments on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. CET (1:00 p.m. German local time) starting on January 5,2026, with the last appointment offered on March 2, 2026.

If you have questions about your admission, please contact the admissions office directly.

If you have problems or questions about issues such as paying the social contribution fee, semester spent on leave etc. the student office is responsible.
RUBiss team of the International Office
The RUBiss team provides support in social, cultural and university matters as well as in formal and legal matters. We support you throughout your studies.
International welcome & onboarding courses
As an international student, you will face many different challenges at the beginning of your studies. Our goal is to support you from the start and help you feel comfortable and find your way in your new environment.
The International Office offers a program of different preparatory events, that can be taken online. The program and registration is announced here.
Participation is highly recommended.
Scholarships
Scholarships awarded by the International Office
International students can apply for a scholarship of the International Office.
Application period WiSe 24/25
You can apply online from 08 July to 11 August* for a scholarship from the International Office for the winter semester 2024/25.
*Application deadline for the University Entrance Scholarship: August 18
