On January 21, 2023, the Department invites you Department Saturday Morning Physics. The speaker will be Prof. Dr. Ralf-Jürgen Dettmar, who will give a talk titled “A Five-Step Journey Through Our Universe – An Introduction to the Year of Science 2023.”
From the tiniest particles to major discoveries—Saturday Morning Physics offers exciting physics topics for everyone. Lecturers from Department Physics and Astronomy present topics from various fields of physics in an accessible manner. On January 21, 2023, Ralf-Jürgen Dettmar, an astrophysicist at the Astronomical Institute, will give a lecture on the topic “Five Steps Through Our Universe – An Introduction to the Year of Science 2023”:
"Infinite expanses" and "astronomical numbers", both terms describe the fascinating findings from the exploration of the universe.
The media regularly report on spectacular new findings in astronomy. Now "Our Universe" is also
The lecture attempts to present the very different structural elements of the universe on the basis of selected examples. Starting with surprises in our planetary system, the overview leads far beyond our Milky Way to the limits of the manageable universe.
Prof. Dr Ralf-Jürgen Dettmar
