Physics Colloquium on 12/06/2023: "Insights into the Underlying Physics and Possible Applications of Superconducting Spintronics."

06.06.23 | Physics Colloquium, Event

On Monday, June 12, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. c.t., the next meeting of our Physics Colloquium will take place.

The speaker will be Prof. Dr. Sebastián Bergeret (Consenjo Superior de Investigacione Científicas (CSIC)) on the topic "Insights into the underlying physics and possible applications of superconducting spintronics"..

In recent years, condensed matter research has dedicated considerable attention to exploring materials and hybrid structures where superconductivity coexists with spin-dependent fields. This interaction leads to the emergence of unconventional superconducting states, which hold significant potential for applications in spintronics and quantum technologies, thereby defining the field of superconducting spintronics. This presentation provides insights into the underlying physics and possible applications within the field, highlighting the pioneering role of the Ruhr Universität Bochum in its early development.

Abstract of the presentation by Prof. Dr. Bergeret.

The introduction will be given by Prof. Dr. Ilya Eremin.

The faculty cordially invites all interested parties. The event will take place in lecture hall HNB and hybrid via Zoom. Before the colloquium we offer coffee and cookies. This link will take you to the Zoom event (meetingID: 632 5520 9938, password: 526977). All dates of the Physics Colloquium can be found here.
