Dates for the Start of the Academic Year
Preliminary Course from September 7 to October 2, 2026
We recommend that everyone starting their bachelor’s degree program take our preparatory course. In this course, we prepare you for your first semester by refreshing and strengthening your math skills and teaching you strategies and skills for studying and working at a university.
More information about the preparatory courseThe preparatory course begins on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with an information session in Lecture Hall H-NB.
Save the Date: Freshman Week , October 12–16, 2026.
In addition to information sessions on starting your studies, the program includes a group breakfast, a campus scavenger hunt, and plenty of opportunities to get to know our Department, student council, and your new classmates.

The Moodle course "Physics Study Info". facilitates the organization of your studies and the communication with the examination office. All necessary forms as well as fact sheets and tutorials for the most common concerns are provided here. In addition, we use the opportunity to inform you quickly and specifically about innovations and offers related to your studies. All enrolled students are automatically enrolled in the course.
