Starting next Monday, October 16, 2023, the first Sustainability Week of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum will start. On Tuesday, physics will also participate in the program.
The program on Tuesday:
14.00, HNB
Lecture by Prof. Dr. Andreas Wieck and Max Ziehfreund.
"Sustainability in electronic devices by renewing electrolytic capacitors with a long service life".
Around 90% of defective electrical and electronic equipment is the victim of dried-out electrolytic capacitors (ELKOs), which only need to be located and replaced with new ones for around €1 to regain full function. The resources, energies, times and money saved in the process are usually significant. The presentation will show ways to minimize the obsolescence of electrical appliances (washing machines, air conditioners, computers, servers, cell phone power supplies, TVs, radios, controllers, etc.) and thus realize concrete sustainability.
The lecture is aimed at all interested parties, prior knowledge is not necessary.
16.00, NB 4/158
Seminar by Prof. Dr. Ralf-Jürgen Dettmar
"Sustainability aspects of astronomical research at international large scale facilities".
The seminar is aimed at all interested parties.
