Dr. Meike Küßner was named a Fellow for her work and commitment to the NRW-Fair network.

Dr. Meike Küßner has been named a Fellow by the NRW-FAIR research network for her work on more efficient computer use of highly complex analysis packages in hadron physics and for her involvement in setting up and commissioning the cryogenic crystal calorimeter for the PANDA experiment at FAIR. As a Fellow, she receives prize money of 7500 euros, which she can use for her research projects.

The NRW-FAIR network of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia currently consists of five institutions (Ruhr University Bochum, University of Bonn, FZ Jülich, University of Münster, University of Wuppertal), with the universities of Cologne and Bielefeld joining this year. The network focuses on the field of hadron and particle physics and is significantly involved in the design of the FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) in Darmstadt, a particle accelerator that is scheduled to start operations in 2026. The research center will be one of the largest in Europe and will pool the expertise and resources of numerous scientists.
