The Faculty of Physics and Astronomy is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Bidzina Shergelashvili as Visiting Professor for the second time.
Prof. Dr. Shergelashvili is a researcher at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. His collaboration with the Chair of Theoretical Physics IV focuses on the topic "Connecting the Sun and the Heliosphere: Physical Conditions at the Heliobase and Their Signatures in Space Weather", which deals with model development and numerical simulations in this area.
The "Visiting Professor" program at RUB honors outstanding international researchers who contribute to the education of young scientists at RUB through teaching, scientific advice or mentorship. Prof. Dr. Shergelashvili was and is closely involved in the final theses of students.
The renewed appointment of Prof. Dr. Shergelashvili as Visiting Professor underlines not only his outstanding expertise and contribution to research, but also the close cooperation between RUB and top international researchers.
