12.07.22 | International, Study

Bachelor students in physics (and other disciplines) can soon apply for various internships around the world. Scholarship holders receive a monthly full scholarship rate and a travel allowance.

The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) arranges research internships for students of natural sciences and engineering within the framework of the scholarship programme RISE Weltweit (Research Internships in Science and Engineering). The scholarship programme is aimed at Bachelor's students at German universities and universities of applied sciences; students in Master's programmes are not eligible to apply. The internships are offered by research groups worldwide in RISE's own programme database.

Bachelor students can apply for an internship in Canada between 8 and 22 August and for internships worldwide between 1 November and 15 December 2022. The duration of the internships is 6 weeks to a maximum of 3 months, the earliest start date is 1 June 2023 (for internships in Canada: 1 May 2023). Scholarship holders receive a full DAAD scholarship rate and a one-off travel allowance for a maximum of three months. In addition, the scholarship also covers health, accident and liability insurance.

Via the Website of the DAAD interested Bachelor students can find out about possible internships worldwide before they start applying. They can apply for a maximum of three positions from 1 November. Students who are interested in an internship in Canada will soon be able to apply on the Website of the partner programme Mitacs apply.
